Ingham County Animal Control Officers Remove Nearly 40 Living and Deceased Animals from Onondaga Residence

On the afternoon of July 20th, 2023 Ingham County Animal Control officers executed a search warrant in the 4100 block of South Onondaga Road in Onondaga with assistance from the Ingham County Sheriff’s office. Ingham County Animal Control officers were acting on a tip from a concerned citizen about a residence containing approximately 50 cats suffering from various illness and injuries in addition to multiple deceased animals on the property.

In total, 1 dog, 33 living cats, and 5 deceased cats were removed from the property and transported to Ingham County Animal Control where they are currently undergoing medical evaluations. A number of the animals will require medical attention due to various illnesses and injuries.

The suspect has surrendered all animals to Ingham County Animal Control and is cooperating with the investigation. ICAC officers will be submitting a report to the Ingham County Prosecutor’s Office.

If anyone would like to help with the influx of cats in ICACS’ care, donations of non-clumping cat litter and any brand of wet cat food can be dropped off or mailed to the shelter.
