Animal Cruelty and Neglect

Ingham County has zero tolerance for animal cruelty and neglect.

Animal neglect and abuse are not tolerated in Ingham County County.

Beating a pet, killing a pet and dog fighting are felony violations in Michigan.  If you have information on possible animal abuse, contact us immediately at 517-676-8370 ex1.

Witnesses can be very helpful when preparing cases.  However, you are not required to leave your name.  Animals can be immediately taken from an owner and the owner arrested if the case is severe.

Animal owners are also responsible for providing food, water, proper shelter and veterinary care.

For more information about stopping animal abuse, here is a video produced by HOM-TV featuring an interview by the former ICAC Director, Jamie McAloon Lampman. Open Line: Fighting Animal Abuse
